Our expertise is based on real-life experience -- running a business, growing leads and, most importantly, increasing sales. We’ve learned how to use internet and social media tools in a new way and translated our success into a method that can help most businesses stop chasing after new customers and begin reaping the benefits of having new customers seek them out instead.
Look, we know that lots of “experts” make lots of claims about using the internet as a sales tool. We also know that there’s a ton of cool stuff out there, lots of features and apps and platforms – and we know it’s easy to get caught up in the technology and to forget sometimes that it’s all about your bottom line.
We’re here to remind you that it’s all about generating leads and creating a constant flow -- a storm, maybe -- of new business. Cutting through the hype and silliness in internet marketing was the best thing we ever did and we can show your business how to do it too.
Where We Come From
Inbound Storm got its start in a wet basement.
Actually, we started in lots of wet basements -- 300,000 of them to be exact. That’s how many satisfied customers are on the books at U.S. Waterproofing, one of the country’s oldest and largest home improvement companies. Matt Stock, founder of Inbound Storm, is an owner of U.S. Waterproofing and runs its marketing department. The business has been in his family since its founding in 1957.
“My mission since joining the business has been to find new and better ways to increase sales. I succeeded at quadrupling sales over a ten-year period but I still wasn’t satisfied.”
For years, U.S. Waterproofing had focused on traditional outbound marketing – TV ads, radio spots, billboards, Yellow Pages – and when the internet came of age, they adapted their marketing to make use of the new medium’s ability to communicate quickly and directly with customers. It all worked, to a degree, but they knew something was missing.
“I love things like Twitter and Foursquare but I knew that our customer base wasn’t interested in following the daily doings of a basement waterproofing company. There had to be a more effective way of using the internet to sell our services.”
What U.S. Waterproofing discovered was inbound marketing, using the internet to help customers seek them out, and the benefits of that discovery went straight to their bottom line.
